Conditions of Hire
For the safety and enjoyment of all users, Logan North Aquatic Centre (LNAC) Management expects both students and visiting staff to adhere to the facility entry terms and conditions and the following pool hire requirements during the entirety of their carnival or booking.
Supervision
Supervision of students is the responsibility of the visiting teachers. LCC Management expects teachers to ACTIVELY supervise students at all times. LNAC lifeguards are an important safety feature of the LNAC but are not intended to replace the supervision of visiting staff. It will be the responsibility of the school to provide personnel to assist with rescues; these personnel must be capable swimmers, as they are required to enter the water as the first responder to assist struggling swimmers. This expectation extends to cover the supervision in and around the change rooms & the cafe area.
Insurance
The Hirer must have a current public liability policy with a minimum coverage of $10 million per event at all times during the Booking Period and provide LCC with a certificate of currency prior to booking. The Hirer agrees to protect Logan City Council, its staff, agents, and contractors from any legal claims, demands, or liability for accidents, losses, or injuries caused by the actions or omissions of the Hirer, their employees, agents, guests, or those under their control while using the Facility under the Conditions for Hire of Facilities.
Dive Block Conditions
Before engaging in diving activities, whether from the pool’s edge or using dive blocks, it is the responsibility of the individual renting the facility to ensure they have completed sufficient dive training. Additionally, a Competitive Dive Entry Preparation Checklist, in accordance with Swim Australia’s Dive Entry for Competitive Swimming Policy, must be filled out. Proof of relevant qualifications must be provided prior to booking to allow diving into shallow water.
Catering
Catering is available at Logan North Aquatic Centre. No externally catered food can be brought into the centre e.g., Subway, McDonalds. No alcohol or glass items can be brought into the centre.
Cleaning
At the end of the booking, the hirers must remove all rubbish and leave their area in a clean and tidy state. The hirer must at all times co-operate with the appointed Duty Manager and ensure that the booking is conducted in an orderly manner with a minimum of inconvenience to other patrons.
Risk Management
Prior to the booking, the Hirer is required to conduct a risk assessment, which should include specific considerations for non-swimmers, weak swimmers, disability, and participants with any medical conditions to ensure their safety during the event.
Cancellations
A cancellation acknowledged within 7 days of the event incurs a one-hour venue hire fee if not rescheduled; no fee if rescheduled. Cancellations received 8 days or more before the event have no fee.
